Text Compare (Diff)
What changed in the revised contract? What did your editor touch? Paste both versions and see the differences highlighted.
This tool runs entirely in your browser. Nothing you add is uploaded to any server.

How to use
- 1
Paste the original on the left and the changed text on the right.
- 2
Results appear below: green is added, red is removed.
- 3
Turn on “ignore whitespace” to skip spacing-only changes.
Two ways to compare
- By line + inline — finds changed lines and highlights the exact characters inside them. Best for contracts, code and lists.
- By word — compares the flow of words, ignoring where lines wrap. Best for prose edits.
How it works
We find the longest common subsequence between the two texts and mark everything else as added or removed — the same idea behind Git's diff.
Sensitive documents are safe here: comparison happens entirely in your browser.
FAQ
Can I compare Word files directly?
Not the files themselves — select all (Ctrl+A), copy and paste each version.
Does it handle long texts?
Thousands of lines work fine. For very long documents, compare chapter by chapter.
I only moved a paragraph, but it shows big changes.
Comparison follows order, so a moved paragraph appears as deleted in one place and added in another. That's expected.
