Compress PDF
Upload limit getting in the way? Shrink scanned PDFs by re-creating each page at a sensible resolution — without sending the file anywhere.
Each page is re-created as an image, so text in the result is no longer selectable or searchable. Your original is untouched.
This tool runs entirely in your browser. Nothing you add is uploaded to any server.

What compresses well
Scans and photo-heavy PDFs often shrink by 50–90%. PDFs exported from Word or similar apps are already light, because text is stored as shapes; converting them to images can make them bigger — we'll tell you if that happens.
The trade-off
Each page is redrawn as an image at the chosen resolution, so text in the result can't be selected or searched. Keep your original and use the compressed copy for uploads.
FAQ
Is my PDF uploaded?
No. It's processed in your browser with the open-source PDF.js and pdf-lib libraries.
Why didn't my text PDF shrink?
Text PDFs are already efficient. Large ones usually contain big photos — re-export from the original app with lower image quality.
Is there a page limit?
No fixed limit, but very long PDFs take time and memory. Split them first with Split PDF.
