Full-resolution crops
The preview is scaled down, but cropping uses the original pixels. Cropping the middle half of a 4000×3000 photo gives you a crisp 2000×1500 image. The numbers shown are in original pixels.
What each ratio is for
- 1:1 — profile pictures and Instagram
- 4:3 / 3:4 — standard camera photos
- 16:9 — YouTube thumbnails, slides, wallpapers
- 9:16 — phone wallpapers, stories and shorts
