How the palette is made
Pixels are repeatedly split along their widest color range (median cut) into eight groups of similar colors, and each group's average is shown — most common first.
FAQ
Colors from a JPG look slightly off.
JPG compression shifts colors a little. Use a PNG original or click the middle of a large flat area.
Can I see CMYK?
